When do I need to call Texas811?

CALL BEFORE YOU DIG! 8-1-1

Knowing where underground utility lines are buried before each digging project begins helps protect you from injury, expense and penalties. Even simple digging projects can damage utility lines and disrupt vital services to an entire community, harm diggers, and potentially result in expensive fines and repair costs. Marked lines show diggers the approximate location of underground lines and help prevent undesired consequences.
The 811 number consolidates all local “Call Before You Dig” numbers and helps save lives by minimizing damage to underground utilities. One phone call to 8-1-1 quickly and easily begins the process of getting underground utility lines market. Local One Call Center personnel will then notifiy affected utility companies, who will mark underground lines for FREE. Whether you are a professional excavator or a homeowner, you need to call 811 before every dig!

General construction questions

Do I have to be home during construction?

There are 2 parts to the installation. The first part which involves burying the drop to your home – No, you do not have to be home. We will be able to install it across your yard without you needing to take time off from work. The second part of the installation process – Yes, you will need to be home. We will work with you to coordinate a time that we can install the rest of the required equipment inside of your home.

Will you dig up my yard?

Because Taylor Telecom buries the drop in order to protect the cable from weather. Yes, we will need to trench through your yard. We will meet with the customer to discuss the route that is taken. We make every attempt to be as neat and clean as we can be, and try to leave your yard in the same condition it was in before construction occurred.

If I currently have service, will my service be interrupted?

Because we do not disconnect your old copper wiring until the fiber installation is completed (equipment installed inside of your home), you should not experience any service interruption. When we install the equipment inside of your home, you will experience a very short outage while we change out the equipment, however you will be home when this occurs.
